Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Major in English with Multimedia Technology
The English Department provides students with the oral and written skills necessary for their academic preparation and to face the future as professionals. It is a progressive department in which the professors use innovative techniques and technologies to facilitate learning. Furthermore, they promote self-study and self-access learning skills through the integration of multimedia technology. The BA program even includes Education Technology courses to prepare the future teacher for the integration of technology in the classroom. The program also provides an opportunity for teachers in active service to further develop and perfect the skills necessary to meet the current and future demands of the teaching profession. · Prepare students in the teaching of English as a Second Language (ESL). · Prepare English teachers in the latest ESL methodologies with the skills and knowledge to select, plan, and introduce multimedia into the teaching-learning process. · Allow current non-certified English teachers to obtain a Department of Education Certificate as well as other certificates for Specialist in Educational Technology (21 TEED credits) or Resource Teacher in Emergent Technology (18 TEED credits). 1.
